Job Advert: Backend Web Application Developer (PHP)

Your Role

• Taking part in the conception, implementation and testing steps of our server services and applications
• Implementing automated code base quality assurances in our projects to support our Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipeline
• Supporting the integration of partners and client integrations in new and existing maviance applications
• Maintaining and extending existing services and applications
• Sharing your development expertise in our team
• Creation of code, tests and development documentation

Your Profile

Interested in new web and mobile technologies as well as emerging markets and products

You pay attention to details and eager to learn

Interested to work in an environment using cutting edge technologies like CI/CD, cloud services, containers (docker), Machine learning

Mandatory skills

• Experience in Test Driven Development and Behaviour Driven Development practices in projects.
• Experience working with Codeception is a bonus.
• A strong desire to execute new ideas and especially in the field of web/mobile development
• Autonomous and Team-Work skills
• Good mastery of the English language is mandatory for this position.
• Knowledge of French or German is a bonus
• Strong Object-Oriented Programming skills in general
• Multiple years of Object-Oriented PHP development experience (PHP 5.5+)
• Experience building PHP/MySQL web applications, preferably using a framework like Symfony, Phalcon, Laravel, Zend or similar
• You can provide references to products that you have worked on that have been deployed in productive use by customers to demonstrate your skillset

Nice to have skill

• Experience working with standard versioning tools (like git),
• Experience working with Continuous Integration platforms (e.g. Jenkins) and containers (docker)
• Working knowledge of Linux shell scripting and Nginx/Apache Web Server
• Knowledge of Javascript, jQuery, and Ajax – ideally ReactJS
• Knowledge of the GO Programming language are a plus
