Plan International Cameroon is currently advertising for the position of 02 Field Coordinators– Garoua (Lagdo and Ngong).
This local position.

Purpose

P4G (Plan for Girl) project will address the barriers to girls’ participation in the governance process, including the sensitivity of the government representatives to accept girls’ participation as well as addressing the gaps in availability of sex, age disaggregated data, and evidence backed arguments for girl-led, planning and monitoring.

Dimensions of Role:

This position is Plan’s representative at the council level of Lagdo or Ngong. He will ensure, close monitoring of the various activities at the level of the council. The field coordinator will work directly with Community relays, community members and councils to ensure implementation of activities as planned.

Accountabilities
Assessment

  • Provide leadership and expertise in the update of various baselines and assessments in the framework of the project.

Program Design

  • Coordinate the process of data collection on the field  
  • Contribute to ensure that issues of communities’ self-resilience are considered in the data collection process for the program design.

Response Management and Implementation

  • Work closely with the Council to ensure that the implementation of relevant activities are planned and implemented in a phased and prioritized manner.  
  • In collaboration with the direct supervisor, ensure that all the aims and objectives of the overall project are achieved in time;
  • Ensure that the indicators of the project are implemented and delivered accordingly;
  • Work in close collaboration with the government entities involved in the project.
  • Promote of peaceful coexistence in the implementation of activities on the field;
  • Comply with Plan’s Child Protection Policy at all times to safeguard and protect the children at all times
  • Comply with Plan’s Fraud Policy at all times to safeguard and protect Plan’s assets and reputation of honesty;
  • Perform any other duties to be assigned to support the attainment of organizational goals.

Monitoring,  Evaluation, Accountability and Learning

  • Make field visits in beneficiary’s localities on the weekly basis to coordinate and monitor implementation of activities.
  • Identify and report to the project coordinator opportunities and constraints and any adjustments needed, Tap lessons learned from the project.  
  • Organize Community meeting following supervisor orientation.
  • Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Child Protection (CPP) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), their relevance to their area of work, and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.

  • Provide regular updates to the Senior Partnership Specialist on progress, priorities and constraints – verbally and in writing on an agreed frequency,
  • Engage and follow up with relevant implementation partners (Councils/LNGOs)
  • Submit monthly progress reports to the Senior Partnership Specialist

  • Communication Skills: Well developed written and oral communication skills. Able to communicate clearly and sensitively with internal and external stakeholders as a representative of Plan at the local level
