Plan International Cameroon is currently advertising for the position of 01 Intern IT Assistant- Yaounde.
This is an internship.

PURPOSE

The Intern IT Assistant main tasks will be to propose, improve, develop and implement all elements of the front-end user interface for several web-based initiatives (Grant tracking tools, Partnership Management, knowledge management, Terminal benefit tools,…), coordinate and provide technical support for users. In all cases, he needs to create reliable and high performing applications and services, accessing over the internet.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the Country IT Manager, the Intern IT Assistant will among many other tasks:

• Liaise with relevant Plan International staff and IT team to understand users' needs and identify corresponding user interface requirements, workflows, and functionalities.
• Create wireframes, storyboards and prototypes to propose options for implementation.
• Develop or improve corresponding user interface components (web templates, style sheets, scripts, images, etc,) as needed.
• Carry out other relevant web-related tasks as requested.
• Ensure availability and reliability of the IT infrastructure, applications and Internet connectivity
• Provides first line support, advice and solutions to IT users in relation to application, data and business process issue, ensuring all issues are resolved in a timely fashion
• Ensure that system security and organizational compliance, processes and procedures are in place and properly maintained
• Perform proactive tasks for IT infrastructure and corporate applications maintenance

Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours Required to Achieve Role’s Objectives:

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree or equivalent in Computer Studies or web development
• Candidates should demonstrate their qualifications and proven experience in the graphic design and technical implementation of user interfaces in a web-based environment.
• Candidates should provide a portfolio containing examples of their achievements.
• Extensive knowledge of web development (PHP, SQL, HTML/CSS, JavaScript)
• Proven ability and experience in web development
• Proven ability and experience in setting up LANs and telecommunications networks
• Experience of supporting LANs, SQL Server, email server administration
• Experience of Microsoft Server administration
• Experience in managing and implementing information systems and supporting technologies.
• Writing code in one or more programming or scripting languages, such as PHP or JavaScript
• Designing the architecture of the components of an web application and the best technologies and languages for the project
• Fixing bugs and reviewing existing code in existing projects
