MPower Ventures, a pan-African for-profit start-up in the energy access area (www.mpower.africa), is looking for an independent and entrepreneurial Finance Director in Cameroon. This is an exciting opportunity in a fascinating and rapidly growing field and in a start-up environment.

The main tasks of the Finance Director are summarized below:

Accounting

• Bookkeeping
• Monthly reporting
• Regulatory filings and compliance

Consumer finance

• Develop structures and partnerships for consumer financing
• Explore options for payroll deductions
• Lead discussions with financial institutions

Softwar

• Oversight software implementation

Stock & logistics

• Inventory and stock reporting
• Logistics & transport coordination
• Logistics support (transport within Windhoek for local & int. deliveries)

The required skills and experience are summarized below:

• A MSc or MA in Business Administration, Accounting, Management, Economics, Finance or any relevant field is desired
• In possession of Diplôme de comptabilité et de gestion or equivalent
• At least 4-5 years of experience in a leading role related to finance and accounting in a mid-sized company
• Team player and eager to learn new tools and roll-up sleeves to get the job done
• Entrepreneurial and creative mindset with attention to detail
• Experience in financial services and consumer finance a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Knowledge of local languages is a plus
