JOB ADVERT : Radiographer

Background:

The Center for Health Promotion and Research provides high quality laboratory diagnostic services, undertakes programs to strengthen the health system, and engages in research to increase knowledge and inform policy change.

Position summary: Perform radiography and related activities as part of a team conducting a public health project. Full-time position based in Bamenda.

Responsibilities may include some or all of the following, depending on employee skill set:

• Perform diagnostic imaging to obtain clear, usable images
• Maintain equipment following standardized procedures for care and maintenance
• Communicate with clients to explain procedures and ensure client comfort
• Position patients and equipment for imaging procedures; monitor clients during examinations to ensure their safety and follow procedures to prevent unnecessary exposure to radiation
• Produce diagnostic images, reporting important information to the clinical team
• Enter data into electronic databases and client records
• Review and contribute to the continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and systems to increase the effectiveness of health service delivery
• Participate in development and maintenance of the quality management system in accordance with ISO 15189 standards
• Other duties as assigned, depending on the needs of the project and the organization

Job Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Imaging, or related qualifications
• Preferred: 1+ years work experience in related area
• Strong interest to work as part of team to improve public health
• Highly self-motivated and ready to work independently as well as in a team
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective verbal and written communications skills in English, good working knowledge of French is an advantage
• Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Effective organizational skills

This position is planned for 6 months with possibility for renewal depending on funding availability.
