JOB VACANCY: Neglected Tropical Diseases(NTDs) Manager

Sightsavers has set two ambitious but achievable goals to fast track the elimination of two neglected tropical diseases(NTDs) that are two of the leading causes of preventable blindness among the communities we work with in Africa and Asia - onchocerciasis and trachoma

In recognition of the growth and importance of this work, we are now recruiting for the post of NTDs Manager to support the consolidation and growth of our important work on neglected tropical diseases. The Country NTDs Manager will lead on programmatic management for the implementation of the trachoma and onchocerciasis Fast Track Initiatives(FTIs) and on integration of mass drug administration against NTDs. Under the management of the Country Director, his/her responsibilities will also includes delivery of NTDs programme targets, provision of programme management guidance and direct technical support to build the development of integrated NTDs programmes and advocacy for the elimination of NTDs on a national basis.

The successful candidate will collaborate with other staff, partners and others to identify areas for programme growth and lead in developing new initiatives.

This role has a challenging scope and requires substancial experience in all aspects of project management in community development programmes, and working in partnerships with multiple stakeholders including governmental agencies, UN agencies, civil society organizations and disability movements among others.

The successful candidat will possess a minimum of a first degree in the relevant field(social sciences, development studies, public health, and education) with significant experience in NTDs and/or Water, Sanitisation and Hygiene(WASH), ideally in an INGO environment.
