CONTEXT

Guinness Cameroon S.A (GCSA) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Diageo. It sits within Diageo Africa that is part of key markets.

GCSA is second largest brewery in the country with an integrated supply and demand business employing about 450 people.

The market is the 5th largest GUINNESS market globally, and the brewing section operates across a portfolio of products including Stout, Lager, Ready to Drink and non-alcoholic products to deliver about 1040 khls per annum.

PURPOSE

• To operate his machine on agreed performance measures of customer service, quality conformance, cost and safety to meet the Diageo Way of Brewing standard and specification
• Apply Management system procedures related to his job or working area
• Participate to Internal quality audits
• Help to put in place and apply  LTO , ISO 9001 & FCCS 22000 requirements

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Minimum Probatoire/Equivalent  with at least 3 years’ experience in Packaging Operations
• Self disciplined, logical and analytical
• Able to understand the operation principles of the Packaging machine
• Able to analyse situations and make suggestions
• Exhibit reporting capacity
• Computer literate
• Rigour and consistency in applying processes
• Basics in English/French is required
• Team player

ACCOUNTABILITIES

As Packaging Operator, you should be able to:

• be held accountable for ensuring safety and cleanliness of his working environment including his machine at start and end of shift
• Ensure that products being processed meet required standards and specifications before being fed into the next process Competence Planning & Operations – Exceptional
•  Carry out and record performance checks for quality, delivery, cost and safety on his machine during his shift Competence Operation Performance - Exceptional
• Act as field coach for his/her team members Manage People for Success - Experienced
• Ensure that process specifications are respected and work instructions are duly followed. Competence Site Compliance/Legislation/Policy Plan – Exceptional
• Carry out proper physical handover of the process to help improve performance of the next team and seamless control of the process.
• Ensure his machine runs at its rated capacity and supplies/is supplied steadily.
• Carry out autonomous maintenance of the machines in his/her area and Ensure 5s is fully implemented also quick fixes Competence Continuous Improvement Tools& Techniques – Exceptional
• Maintain safe working methods and practices at the work place Competence Health & Safety – Exceptional
• To have excellent communications with the Operations, engineering team and Line  Engineer
• To ensure all plan of greasing/ oiling (Mechanic) the Machine are execute on shift and daily basis
