JOB VACANCY
A reputable Transport/logistics Company in Douala requires a suitably qualified and dynamic FLEET OFFICER to join their team. This incumbent in this position will be responsible for efficient and profitable running of the company Fleet of more than 120 Trucks and other type of handling and transportation equipment moving all over the national territory and within the CEMAC zone.
Minimum Requirements
- completed formal technical training diploma/degree in Transportation, logistics, Administration operations or Engineering Degree.
- Valid driver's license is essential.
- A minimun 5 years experience in Transport/logistics in a multi-cultural environment, preferable within the road fleet industry, of which at least 3 years in supervisory role.
- Sound knowledge of multinational standards and processes.
- Sound analytical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Management experience.
- Willing to work weekends and holidays.
- Good interpersonal skills, coupled with the ability to supervise, coach and develop a team.
- Contactable references.
Job Specifications
- Planning, scheduling and overseeing the day-to-day activities related to the transport and delivery of cargo from the port to the customer's site as well as the on return trip.
- Ensuring completion of local cards and drivers cards.
- Acting as interface with the commercial Department regarding acquiring the correct and valid documentation prior to departure.
- Ensuring driver's competency and controls are in place.
- Monitoring and analysing fuel consumption in order to prevent fuel fraud, unauthorised usage of fuel and high fuel costs.
Direct Reports Required
- Location Report-area controls.
- Activity Reports on Fleet.
- Operational expenditures and requirements.
- Loading/off-loading reports.
- Vehicle reports, activity, fuel, down time and performances.
- Accident, incident Reports.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned from time-time by the Department Manager.
- Good verbal and written ability in both French and English.
