Plan Cameroon is in the process of acquiring a grant from the World Food Program(WFP) for the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of activities relating to  the management of Moderate Acute Malnutrition(MAM) in the East, North and Far-North regions. Within this framework we are looking for potential Cameroonian candidates for one year duration renewable contract to fulfill the positions below:

NB: Awarding employment contracts to selected candidates will depend on the final agreement on the grant with the donor.

Title: (03)Program Unit Project Coordinator, Supplementary Feeding Program(SFP).

Duty Station: Bertoua, Garoua and Maroua with a possibility to be transferred anywhere in Cameroon.

Main responsabilities and Responsibilities

Under the authority of the National Project Coordinator, theProgram Unit Project Coordinator will among other tasks perform the following:

  • Ensure that the team(M&E assistant, accountant, supervisors, logisticians, community animators and the health staff) involved in the project understand the newly updated National protocol for the management of acute malnutrition and what is expected in this project
  • Design distribution plans and ensure that the supplies of foodstuffs in the distribution points are done accordingly
  • Ensure that the enrollment of children under 5  and pregnant  and lactating women(PLW) in the SFPP respects the standardized criteria
  • Facilitate the proper delivery of the water hygiene and sanitation(WASH) component of the project, including the awareness campaigns, the promotion of good hygiene practices for the prevention of water borne diseases.
  • Ensure that the  distribution planning enables an effective supervision by the Districts supervisors
  • Liaise with the program, administrative, logistic and finance staff at the program unit(PU) level to maximize collaboration and ensure proper coordination of activities.
  • Ensure a proper respect of administrative and finance operating procedures.
  • Attend to the nutrition cluster meetings at the regional level
  • Represent Plan in meetings, donor visits, etc.
  • Any other duties assigned by the PUM and the National Project Coordinator
  • Draft articles relating to the project

Qualification and Experience

  • Graduate qualification in a relevant discipline(Nutrition, Public Health, Humanitarian response) and/or proven experience in implementing a Nutrition project.
  • Extensive knowledge of the new National Protocol of the Management of Acute Malnutrition
  • At least 1 year experience working for a reputable international humanitarian and development organization.
  • Experience  in the management of a nutrition project.
  • Experience of working in zones where security issues is a concern

Skills and Behaviour

  • Knowledge on the food assistance and nutrition
  • Extensive knowledge of emergency nutrition work
  • Knowledge of international humanitarian standards
  • Ability to speak, read and write English fluently and proven ability and willingness to learn others languages
  • Excellent computer skills(Microsoft office including word, excel, powerpoint, internet, etc.)
  • Proven capacity to facilitate trainings, coach staff and provide supportive supervision
  • Excellent project implementation, participatory monitoring and evaluation skills
  • Strong coordination skills in programming, resource management and safety and security.
