The Cameroon Liaison Office seeks a Research Assistant to assist in its research and development programme.
The Job:
- Coordinate and assist in the establishment and conduct of field trials, crossing block, abiotic and biotic stresses screening trials and other technical aspect of a breeding programme.
- Assist in the development and management of inbred lines and hybrids of vegetables.
- Assure maintenance of unit facilities and equipment, planning and execution of field experiments will include - field layout, data collection, supervision of field assistants and farm hands and actively prepare draft quality technical reports and articles in English for publication in scientific journals - in addition to any duty assigned by the breeders.
The Person:
- A Research assistant with a minimum qualification of Bsc in Agriculture Science or in a related field from a recognised institution and with a minimum of 3-5 years of graduate experience in a Research Institute or University.
- Knowledge in good computer skills, data analysis is an advantage.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision excellent interpersonnal skills and proficiency in spoken and written English is essential.
- The person must be able to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team in a multi cultural environment.
Reward:
- The initial appointment is for one year and may be extended depending on requirement and performance of incumbent.
