Plan Cameroon is looking for a suitable candidate for the position of Gender advisor to be based in its country office(Yaoundé). The contract is for one year renewable. It will be governed by Cameroon Labour Law.

Main duties and responsabilities :

Under the authority of the Program Support Manager, the Gender Advisor will among other tasks perform the following :

• Ensure that Plan Cameroon Strategic plan is gender sensitive ;
• Facilitate staff’s understanding of BIAAG and Plan gender policy ;
• Orientate and train staff and partners on gender main streaming ;
• Facilitate the collection and analysis of gender disaggregated data in the field ;
• Facilitate the formulation of gender sensitive indicators for the collection of baseline data and the evaluation of program and projects in collaboration with technical advisors and gender committee members ;
• Ensure that Plan’s Child Protection Policy and related procedures are adhered to in all aspects of work ;
• Develop proposal for resources mobilization for gender/BIAAG activities ;
• Produce reports that capture gender activities in programs and projects ;

Qualification and Experience :

• Diploma or its equivalent in gender or Social Sciences
• At least 02 years working experience in social development.
• Experience in the NGO sector preferably with child-related development issues, would be an advantage ;
• Experience in national policies/framework and guideline on gender and experience working with government agencies would be an advantage
