Within the context of Emergency Response to Refugees from Nigeria Plan Cameroon is urgently seeking to recruit experienced, enthusiastic, humanitarian-oriented and hardworking Cameroonian for six months duration to fulfill the positions below.

While funding is only guaranteed for 6 months at the point of advertising, Plan is seeking longer-term funding and the operation in the Far North Regions will be operating for much longer than 6 months.

Title: (1) Account Assistant

Duty station: Maroua

Main duties and responsibilities

Under the supervision of the finance Coordinator the account assistant will among many other tasks perform the following

• Ensure all relevant grant information is accessible on a timely basis and properly summarized for rapid managerial decision making
• Update grant operational plan budget by SRs/Plan analyze and advise senior managers concerning appropriate actions to be taken
• Liaise with project unit and SR offices with regard to emergency response budgetary issues when necessary
• Assist in the preparation of the annual grant budget/NOBIF, monitor the impact of operation plans upon existing grant, analyze and advise supervisor/ senior management concerning appropriate action to be taken

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• University degree in accounting/finance
• At least 3 years related experience
• Good experience and knowledge of accounting and emergency response grant funds management regulations and procedures
• Good experience and knowledge of internal financial controls and procedures
• Good experience in grant reporting requirements and knowledge of plan’s grant financial systems and procedures

Physical environment and demands

• Frequent travels
