JOB ANNOUCEMENT

GLOBAL VIRAL(GV) is recruiting for a MANAGER OF PROGRAMS with considerable experience in Health and research program management, monitoring and evaluation. The position will be based at Global Viral Cameroon office located at the Military Health Research Center (CRESAR) in Yaoundé.

About Global Viral

Global Viral Cameroon (GVC) is a foreign Association whose mission is to promote understanding, exploration and stewardship of the microbial world. GVC has conducted HIV/AIDS prevention and capacity building activities and research in zoonotic diseases in central Africa for 15 years.

Qualifications:

Successful candidates must have the following qualifications:

• Minimum of Master Degree in public health or equivalent degree.
• Direct experience in public health and research programs management with at least 5 years in this field.
• Experience in leading or contributing to development of funding opportunities from international funders such as the US Government, European Union , private foundations (e.g. Bill and Melinda Gates Foundations) and international multilateral organizations (e.g. Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria)
• Knowledge of and experience in personal management
• Ability to work independently, to plan and prioritize work with minimal supervision
• Effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, especially within diverse international settings.
• Available to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time
• Fluent in French and English (written and spoken)

Duration of contract: 1 year (renewable)

Supervisory responsibilities: candidate will oversee a team of project coordinators
