Project Manager for « The Business coalition Against Corruption »
BCA as initiator of the coalition is looking for a project manager to continue the implementation of the project. The coalition is managed by a steering committee that sits twice per year; it is chaired by BCA Cameroon and its members are from other strategic and technical partners, including the British High Commission in Cameroun, the National Anti-Corruption Commission (CONAC), and Transparency International (TI)-Cameroon. BCA’s vision is to create a critical mass of private sector companies capable of reversing the corruption trend in Cameroon.
The implementation of its programmers and daily management of the project are followed-up by team of compliance manager from its members companies this team forms the “Executive Committee” that sits with the project manager on a monthly basis.
The role of project manager reports to the executive committee, which acts like a board of management: agreeing operational plans and budget (agrees spends); defining objectives monitoring progress against them.
Responsibilities:
- To drive recruitment/engagement campaign for new members into the coalition;
- To further develop and implement the “change of mindset” training program and sharing Best Practice on how to stamp out fraud and combat fraudulently motivated demands for decision makers and compliance and ethic managers in the adhering businesses;
- To roll out a monitoring/accompaniment plan so as to maintain momentum in all adhering businesses;
- To prepare & implement an external communication strategy;
- To animate the coalition members network;
- To ensure the effectiveness of monitoring processes and the continued improvement of the compliance program;
- To put in place & follow up the whistle blowing system (green line) in partnership with CONAC;
- To represent the project vis-à-vis the representatives of the private sector, the government, non-governmental organizations and other parties concerning the compliance program.
Qualifications
- University degree preferably in management, communication, social sciences or governance.
- At least 10 years of professional experience in a well-governed and transparent professional environment.
- A personal and demonstrable passion for good governance.
- Fluency in spoken and written English and French.
- Good understanding and knowledge of business environment and how corruption slows down economic development, and most of all the courage to stand up in public, in association with bug companies members of BCA, to denounce corruption acts wherever they exist.
