Electrical Technician

Position Description - Purpose (Key roles and responsibilities)
- In charge of the execution of assigned work tasks associated with the operation of designated process equipment.
- Ensure safe installation,maintenance and repair of all electrical and electronic equipment to improve runtime and achieve maximum production rates.
Position Description - accountabilities (including KPIs)
Principal deliverables and accountabilities include:
- Carry out tasks as part of a multi-discipline team and complete any other reasonable tasks as delegated by the Team Leader.
- Carry out inspection, maintenance and field repair of all electrical and electronic equipment.
- Assist in monitoring the technical performance of assets against agreed indicators in own discipline.
- Ensure that all maintenance work is performed safely and in accordance with statutory and company regulations, ensuring there is always adequate stock of parts/tools/consumables required.
- Implement preventative maintenance programs and plan ahead with Team Leader regarding maintenance/repairs to avoid/minimize any delay through breakdown.
- Compile concise hand over log for relief at crew change.
- Safeguard the tools and instruments under their care and report any misuse to supervisor.
- Personally responsible for own safety and conducting one's self to the standards of ADDAX Policies and Procedures.
- Take personal responsibility for, and demonstrate leadership in, HSSE, Play a leading role in safety meetings and the APIPP program.
- Maintain all required records, documentation and certification of electrical equipment in the field and produce accurate and timely reports on usage of such equipment.
- Maintain and update all electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
Prodive on-the-job training for Electrical Helpers
- Ensure understanding of, and compliance with, Addax permit to work system.
- Maintenance and repairs of HVAC units.
- Prioritize electrical work request of equipment needing preventive of reactive maintenance to prevent any impact to the environment.
- Promptly report any oil or chemical spills and then take appropriate action to contain.
- Work with the maintenance team to maintain electrical and instrumentation associated with mechanical equipment to consistently improve runtime.
Dimensions
- Essential for efficient runtime of critical equipment, pumps, compressors and generators in Mokoko Abana Production Unit.Continuous on the job training for junior technicians.
- Work with Team Leader or other disciplines with(limited) third parties on strictly technical matters.
- Work with engineering team to develop the adequate replacement or new installation of electrical equipment.
- Learn to review plans and inspect equipment to ensure compliance with electrical standards.
Experience and Qualifications Required (capabilities)
- High technical school with electrical backgroung (GCE Advanced Level/BAC Electricity/Electronic or Equivalent)
- 1+ years Production/Maintenance Assistant trainee
- 2+ years Production/Maintenance Assistant
- Competent Operator with 3 to 5 years experience in Production
- Operations and Extensive knowledge of oilfield processes.
