Green Harvest Partners is a company producing, processing and marketing agricultural products based in Yaoundé, Cameroon. To successfully conduct its projects, the company is seeking to hire an Agricultural Engineer specializing in cassava farming.

The ideal candidate is a man / woman between the ages of 25 and 40 with a degree in Agricultural Engineering, with a broad knowledge of agricultural development in the forest region and relevant experience in the management and supervision of agricultural personnel.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Support and supervise the implementation of a personnel staff
• Take initiatives in management decisions, development and motivation of the staff
• Conduct staff skills assessments to build up the right team and deliver on expected results
• Develop and execute budget forecasts to achieve set goals
• Ensure the design, implementation, supervision and technical coordination of the launch of a new agricultural site in the equatorial forest
• Ensure the proper implementation of the seedlings. Track plots cultivated under the project in close collaboration with various partners
• Respect recommended technical procedures, diagnosis of diseases and pests, evaluation of yields and costs
• Manage agricultural stocks and various tools. Hold stock/ assets inventory and conduct quarterly inventory audits
• Conduct information gathering and writing weekly / quarterly reports on project development

Skills & Competencies

• Have a passion for agriculture, be a hardworking, motivated and dynamic individual.
• Be results driven and have natural skills to complex problems in challenging environment
• Be an Agricultural Engineer or to have an equivalent qualification in the rural agricultural field
• Demonstrate professional experience in agriculture and having lived in a rural area
• Fluently speaking English and French is a MUST. Both languages will be tested
• Be capable of technical/ organizational/ managerial innovations; have a sense of organization, rigor in the management of a workforce and assets

Additional Skills Required

• Be responsible and autonomous, able to work with a minimum of supervision
• Having experience of coaching field teams is a major asset
• Holding a driver license is an asset

Salary Compensation & Working Conditions

• Attractive remuneration with fixed monthly income and variable annual compensation based on pre-defined production objectives
• Contract is of indefinite duration after qualification
• Desired start date of the activities is December 01, 2017
