TRANSLATOR / INTERPRETER

A high profile Douala-based national company is seeking to recruit a Translator/interpreter capable of producing accurate, faithful and reliable translations and interpretations of texts and conversations. The position is open to candidates throughout the national territory.

Required abilities, skills and knowledge:

To be considered, you must:

• Be good in French and have a perfect mastery of the English language ;
• Have interpretation and / or translation skills;
• Be able to write accurately while scrupulously respecting the source language text;
• Have a spirit of analysis, intellectual curiosity, initiative, rigour and be methodical;
• Have a mastery of new translation tools;
• Have good in general knowledge;
• Be able to adapt to new situations and be available to work irrespective of time and geographical conditions;
• Have a team spirit;
• Have the ability to work under pressure;
• Be able to keep confidential information received during discussions and in any case, show total discretion.

Qualification :

You must :

• Hold the GCE A/L plus + 5 of further studies ;
• Have a mastery of Translation and Interpreting;
• Hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Translating;
• Hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Conference Interpreting;
• Have at least 5 years of experience in translation and interpretation.
