Within the context of emergency Response to Refugees from central Africa Republic Plan Cameroon is urgently seeking to recruit experienced, enthusiastic, humanitarian-oriented and hardworking Cameroonian for nine months duration to fulfill the position below. While funding is only guaranteed for 9 months at the point of advertising, Plan is seeking longer-term funding and operations in the East and Adamawa Regions will be operations for much longer than 9 months.

Title: (06) Education in Emergency Field Officer to CAR Refugees Emergency Response

Duty station: Bertoua/Ngaoundere

Purpose of the role:

Provide effective capacities and technical guidance in management including the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of education related activities at the filed levels.

Main Duties and responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Emergency project coordinator and the education in emergency zonal coordinator, the education in emergency field officer will among other tasks perform the following tasks:

• Conduct initial rapid assessment of current situation in collaboration with local specialist  and  affected population; determine priorities and immediate activities and resources
• Review, assess and update the education situation in areas affected by emergency
• Identify potential partnerships to implement recommendations, assess potential partners where available or make recommendations on how to fill gaps.
• Evaluate the implementation of plan education activities and draft recommendations for improved program design
• Prepare education interventions reports to serve as standalone deliverables or to be included in larger emergency   response reports for both donor and internal purposes.
• Coordination of (COGESE) activities , collect , data, coordination of administrative issues in TLS, 
• Ensure that plan is continuously visible on the sites permanently; represent plan in site meeting.
• Support all donor and plan initiated visits to the camps.

Qualification and Experience 

• Degree in development studies, Education or related field
• At least 2 years practical experience working with NGOs in education or related projects
• Practical and relevant experience of operating in emergency

• Timely and effective delivery of project activities and other outputs (reports, etc.)
• Commitment to child protection, gender equality and participation
• Demonstrate ability to assess best practice, document and disseminate lessons learned
