Plan is a children’s organization with primary concerns on children right, safety and well-being and has in its interest to create safe environments for children with more attention paid to child protection. All employees are therefore expected to comply with our child protection policy.

Within the framework of the Baka Right and Dignity (BRD) Project, which is aimed that introducing Baka language and culture into primary schooling in a bid to improve children’s access to education as well as improve the quality of teaching and learning. Plan Cameroon is looking for potential Cameroonian candidates for one (1) year renewable contract to fulfil the following positions;

Title: (1) resource mobilize and advocacy assistant 

Duty station: Bertoua

Main duties and responsibilities

Under the supervision of the project coordinator, the resource mobilize and advocacy assistant will among many other tasks perform the following

• Build a substantial and active donor base for the project
• Maintain collaboration and permanent contact with some key point person at OHCHR, UNICEF, RACOPY, MINEDUB, MINAS for joint initiative
• Identify international local agencies and philanthropist for possible funding
• Assist project beneficiaries ‘community/associations, council,  to search resource for self-help initiative in developing the habit of finding some donors with methods which will work within the local culture
• prepare project  briefing for donors and other project partner
• work with the project team to collect relevant and appropriate data which is needed for effective advocacy and resource mobilization
• ensure supervision of activities related to advocacy and resource mobilization 
• develop training module and facilitate capacity building for project’s staff on advocacy and resource mobilization in collaboration

• degree in social science, international relation with focus on human right
• at least 2 years of experience on advocacy and resource mobilization
• familiarity with the principles and current approaches to advocacy and resource mobilization in development project
• fluency in French and English mastery of baka local language and the community is an additional advantage

Skills and behaviors

• critical analysis of issues related to human right with experience on indigenous people
• understanding of integrated development issues and critical analysis of child poverty with main focus on education
• knowledge of theories of child-right programming, gender and child protection (programmatic and safe-guarding)
• good presentation skills
• knowledge of development issues, trends, challenges and opportunities and implications to community development
