Statement of Work: Part Time Information Technology Assistant
Job title: Part time IT Assistant (PT-ITA)
Job type: Part time – Local Staff
Work hours: 08:30 AM to 12:30 AM from Monday to Friday. 20 hours per week. (This could be re-arranged to have the PT-ITA working three full days in the week instead)
Supervisor: Country Director
Location: Peace Corps main office in Yaounde but will need to travel sometime in country.
Role overview: Assist Post IT Specialist.
The Part-time ITS Assistant is a local position based at the Peace Corps Office in Yaounde, Cameroon but should expect to travel within the country to visit Regional offices. The incumbent will work 20 hours per week under the supervision of the Country Director (CD) with work coordinated by the Information Technology Specialist (IT Specialist) for ensuring the general maintenance of the office IT equipment, providing IT Support and Training to Staff and Volunteers when needed, maintain the office internet and all other duties as assigned by the IT Specialist. Additionally s/he will provide back up in the absence of the ITS. Due to the myriad of duties required, the PT-ITA position requires a high degree of prioritization, organization and attention to detail.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Staff Training and Support:
Training Staff in Yaounde office, Regional offices and Training Center on software Peace Corps staff use:
2. Hardware Support and Maintenance:
Re-image Computers, provide periodic maintenance on desktops, laptops, printers, Photocopiers and Scanners, Smart Phones, office IP PBX, office IP handset and help staff with their immediate hardware issues. Act as first point for all IT equipment repairs.
3. Internet connections:
Manage Internet connections for PCVs in Yaounde, Pre Service Training Center and regional offices.
4. Peace Corps Volunteers (PCVs) IT support:
Assist the PCVs with personal IT request on their laptops or other IT equipment; otherwise, refer PCVs to reliable external vendors
5. IT Security: Act as IT security assistant and second point of contact.
6. Server Tasks: Be able to complete targeted first level server tasks.
7. IT Specialist Backup: Act as IT Specialist backup during IT Specialist absence.
8. Event Support: Provide IT assistance/support for any event organized by Peace Corps: Conferences, Swearing-in ceremonies
9. Comply with and perform on all other duties assigned by the IT Specialist and/or Country Director
Desired skills and qualifications:
The PT-ITA will be working on windows 7/8 and windows server 2008 environment. Manage Microsoft Exchange Server 2010. He will also need to train and support staff and Peace Corps Volunteers by being physically there or on the phone. He will need to have at least the bellow skills and qualifications:

Work experience:
Education:
A bachelor degree or “Diplome d’Etudes Universitaires Techniques (DUT)” in Computer Sciences or any related to Information Technology field is desirable or “Higher National Diploma (Brevet de Technician Supérieur - BTS)” is preferable. CISCO and Microsoft certificates will be a plus.
Desired qualities:
To be able to complete his/her assigned tasks, the PT-ITA will be granted a high access level account that will make him/her be able to access confidential files. The position need then to be filled by a professional person who can keep secrets: Someone highly trustable with a high level of responsibility. The PT-ITA needs also to be a good customer service provider, flexible and patient.
