Position Title: SENIOR RECEPTIONIST, GL4

RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direct supervision of the Associate Admin Officer of the office in Yaoundé, the incumbent will be assumed of the following functions:
- Receive, screen and assist visitors and persons of concern and direct them to the appropriate officer / office/ unit/ department.
- Take messages or provide general information, understanding the importance and the confidentiality of the issues treated.
- Adopt tactful attitude to inform and convince interlocutors to accept unforeseen situations, such as waiting longer than expected, or accepting the cancellation of the appointment.
- Identify and prioritize vulnerable cases.
- Update the scheduling system to ensure proper recording of appointments.
- Report immediality on any security concerns occurred at the reception area.
- Assist in monitoring the trends and the profile of cases approaching the reception area.
- May be required to participate in the registration activities and respond to refugee’s inquiries.
- Perform other related duties as required
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- Completion of the secondary education
- Minimum 5 years of previous relevant job experience.
- Fluency in English and working knowledge of another relevant UN language or local language
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION & COMPETENCIES
- Previous experience in UN/UNHCR.
- Good computer skills in using various office applications (including Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet Explorer and Access).
- Good Knowledge of progress (HCR database for registration of refuges, returnees and displaced persons).
ELIGIBILITY
The internal candidates are the members of the staff of general services currently in service, who have been appointed by the CA process and have and appointment of indefinite duration or determined. Interested staff members should consult the policy and procedures of the UNHCR on the assignments of the locally recruited staff (PPAL).
External candidates must be legally present in Cameroon at the time of the request and of the recruitment
