Responsibilities
Job Purpose/Summary
The IT Infrastructure Operations and Systems Team Lead is in charge of the day to day administration of APCC IT Infrastructure systems, to assure provision of reliable, stable, optimal IT core services(corporate email, data access, data storage, printing, scanning, intranet, internet, collaboration tools, Servers(Windows and Linux Systems), etc...). He or She reports to the Head of IT Infrastructure
Key Accountabilities/Result Area
The IT Infrastructure Operations and Systems Team Lead occupies a critical position in ensuring IT Systems are managed properly as follows:
- Ensure the installation, configuration and administration of IT servers
- Strategic Direction: Assists the Head of IT Infrastructure in developing the insfrastructure strategy, planning, design in line with departmental and corporate vision, objectives and plans.
- IT Service Management: Plays a key role in the IT Support Model in managing and supporting system availability, incidents, problems, requests, changes, asset, releases to ensure proactive business support and continuity in line with Addax Petroleum standards and industry best practices.
- Projects Management: Manages projects assigned by the Head of IT Infrastructure, ensuring that resources at his/her disposal are managed to meet business objectives while balancing constraints and requirements.
- Stakeholder Relationships: Develops and maintain smooth working relationships with business customers and external stakeholders.
- Performance Management: Supports the drive towards excellent, top class performance, optimal uptime and availability(meeting and exceeding defined SLA targets) of the IT systems under his responsibility. Provides regular and ad-hoc performance reports with specific metrics and key performance indicators as required, to the Head of Infrastructure.
- Finance Management: Works with the Head of Infrastructure in developing and managing the Infrastructure part of the departmental budget.
- Remote Site Support: Supports and implements fast and efficient IT support to remote sites(residences, Base and Offshore).
- Contracts Management: Manages all contracts under his/her responsibility, ensuring good working relations with vendors, and delivering top vendor service performance.
- Compliance: (i) HSSE: Complies with HSSE standards and policy in carrying out his activities, ensuring infrastructure team and external stakeholders do likewise; (ii) Audits: Complies and takes part in IT audits as required by the company.
Interface
The incumbent is part on an IT Team of six staff providing services to a population of 120 national and 10 expatriates. This is a function with at least one direct report.
Internal Interfaces
- Works in close collaboration with the IT Datacenter and Datacomms Team Lead, the IT infrastructure Operations Specialist and the Head of Applications.
- Manages(Contract Holder) contracts in Infrastructure.
- Manages infrastructure systems and services for 300 users.
External Interfaces
- Interact with peers in Addax Petroleum Corporate office in Geneva and other Addax Petroleum operating companies.
- Interacts with senior technical executives of external vendors(local and international).
Key Challenges
- Maintain a consistent server uptime of 99% on average annually especially file and print, email, internet, intranet, blackberry, backup and antivirus servers.
- Ensures preventive maintenance of HP servers under his direct responsibility within the Preventive Maintenance program.

Experiences
This position requires that the employee has solid technical and practical competencies(at least 5 years) on:
- Microsoft, Linux, and others servers systems technologies(Active Directory, Exchange, WINS, LDAP, etc,), SAV,
- Network monitoring systems(for example centreon)
- At least (01) year experience in Oil and Gas industry.
Qualifications
- At least a Bachelor's degree it IT, Computer sciences or related fields.
- HP system certified (optional)
- IT Infrastructure Library(ITIL) version 3 Foundation certification
- Bilingual(Fluent in both oral and written English and French).
