Position: Field Supervisor
Location: Bertoua/Ngaoundere – Cameroon

Introduction
Nascent Solutions, Inc. is an international humanitarian and development non-profit organization founded in 2004. The mission of the Organization is to build capacity for vulnerable people, especially women and youth in rural Africa fro self –sufficiency.
Nascent Solutions is currently seeking suitably qualified candidates for the position of field supervisor to support the implementation of a UNHCR funded program designed to prevent Sexual and gender based Violence (SGBV) among refugee settlements in the Adamaoua and East Regions of Cameroon. The Field supervisors will serve as the local link between the project team and the community, and oversee the day to day implementation of all project activities.
This position requires a tactful combination of technical, organizational and people skills, as well a track record of working in emergency situations and with displaced persons. The field supervisors will assist the Program Manager and the Country Representative in leading, promoting and directing stakeholder consultations, mobilization of the target community and supervising all project activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate program planning and logistical support between the project offices in the East of Adamaoua region.
- Manage and mentor the project team by demonstrating leadership, good communication skills including ability to prepare and present concise oral and written operations reports, briefings, updates and other documentation; ability to conduct meetings.
- Inform project team on the development of detailed work plans and budgets that conform to project design and agreements, and work with teams to update these plans on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Ensure the timely preparation and submission of reports, including work and implementation plans; internal data collection and other evaluations activities.
- Ensure effective management of project logistics, including the safety and security of project equipment and materials.
- Ensure that activities are conducted according to work plans, ensuring integrity and timeliness of activities in meeting program objectives, compliance with Nascent and Donor regulations and policies and making recommendations for timely trouble shooting and remediation
- Facilitate coordination among projects to ensure synergy and leverage resources.
- Manage, coordinate and direct communication and publicity for the country portfolio, and initiate regular communication with donors and stakeholders as requested by the Country Representative, including gathering information and writing success stories.
- Manage and coordinate logistics of food commodities, including monetization, commodity call forwards and transportation of commodities from US to field office in collaboration with the Country Representative.
- Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced degree in law, public policy and or other relevant field
- At least 3 years of professional experience in international development in Africa, preferably in emergency environment
- Proven capability in technical, community mobilization and organization
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including written and oral English skills
- Fluency in English and French
- Ability to travel to the field frequently; work in a team and under pressure in a complex environment
- Computer skills, including extensive experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
