Introduction

Nascent Solutions, Inc. is an international humanitarian and development non-profit organization founded in 2004. The mission of the Organization is to build capacity for vulnerable people, especially women and youth in rural Africa fro self –sufficiency.

Nascent Solutions is currently seeking suitably qualified candidates for the position of field animators to support the implementation of a UNHCR funded program designed to prevent Sexual and gender based Violence (SGBV) among refugee settlements in the Adamaoua and East Regions of Cameroon.  The Field animators will mobilize and sensitize target communities, support and monitor all project activities.

This position requires superior people skills, as well a track-record of working in emergency situations and with displaced persons.  The field animators will assist the supervisors and technical staff in reaching out to the target communities, organize community wide campaigns and follow activities

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Mobilize and organize target communities in the project zones
• Facilitate access of project team to the target communities
• Provide guidance on the development of local of detailed work plans and timelines
• Facilitate coordination and information dissemination among project zones
• Participate in information gathering through translation of project content into the local languages
• Prepare regular sensitization reports

QUALIFICATIONS:

• University education
• At least 2 years of work experience in international development, preferably in emergency environments
• Proven capability in technical, community mobilization and organization
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
• Fluency in French and English
• Ability to travel to the field frequently; work in a team and under pressure in a complex environment
• Computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
