JOB ADVERT: Technical / Operations Manager (Cameroon)

Tasks / Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all technical areas such as network operations, engineering and planning, IT, project management, network deployment, power systems
• Involved in technical aspects of regulatory affairs
• Managing the technical department and team
• Responsible for network quality, stability and costs
• Support of sales team in tender processes and with customer projects

Position classification:

• Department: Technical Management
• Reports to: Managing Director of the Country and in the matrix organization to the CTO
• Managerial responsibility: Responsible for 10-15 personnel
• Location: Douala, Cameroon

Education

Degree in electrical engineering, information technology, computer science or communications engineering

Job Experience:

• Minimum 5 years job experience in telecommunications, ISP or IT
• Minimum 3 years management experience with personnel responsibilities
• Strong experience in Internet and data communications, IP routing and switching (Cisco CCNA), very good Linux knowledge
• Basic experience in mobile radio communication systems (GSM, UMTS, WiMAX, Microwave)

Expertise:

• IP networking, wireless, Linux, ISP services

Other Skills:

• English in word and writing
• French in word and writing
• Very good computer skills (complete MS Office)
• Driving license

Personal / Social Skills:

• Team player with strong communication and people skills
• Capable to work goal oriented, KPI based measurement of him/herself and the team, strongly self-organized and independent in a very dynamic environment
• Strong motivation, flexibility, and resilience
