Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive, organized, and detail-oriented Procurement Intern to support our procurement activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services from local markets, business areas, and suppliers in Yaoundé, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. This role is ideal for a recent graduate who is eager to build a career in procurement and supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and purchase goods, materials, from local markets, business areas, and suppliers in Yaoundé.
- Visit markets and business areas regularly to identify reliable suppliers and negotiate the best prices.
- Compare prices, quality, and delivery terms from multiple suppliers before making purchases.
- Ensure all purchases meet the company's quality, quantity, and specification requirements.
- Negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive prices and favorable payment terms.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local suppliers and vendors.
- Maintain an updated supplier database with contact details, product ranges, and pricing.
- Monitor supplier performance (quality, delivery time, reliability) and report issues.
- Identify and onboard new suppliers as needed.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and follow up on deliveries.
- Verify invoices, delivery notes, and receipts against purchase orders.
- Maintain accurate procurement records.
- Prepare weekly/monthly procurement reports for management.
- Maintain integrity and transparency in all supplier dealings.
- Avoid conflicts of interest and report any unethical practices.
Key Qualifications
- Education Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Commerce, or any field provided the candidate is eager to build a career in procurement.
- Experience 0–1 year of experience in procurement, purchasing, or a similar role.
